Someone on ebay uk is selling a bunch of beta's including Shenmue II.
Is it widely known that there is a beta release of this game out there? I've never heard it mentioned before. I would ask over on Shenmue Dojo but their sign up process is ridiculous. link to auction |

I never consider these as true Beta's. These are "White Label Promotional Discs". They were often distributed to the Press in PAL regions. They are often times identical to the actual retail release. I don't know of any situation where these white discs were unique over the final version of the game. | |||

Do people really create fakes of PAL promo discs? I guess those would be pretty easy to counterfit given the simple disc cover print. Has anyone ever ran into this before in the wild? | |||

I never saw faked white label discs - and Im sure the ones which were offered are official ones.
@vash32 ... have you ever seen a white label disc in reality. I guess no. White labels arent betas - they included the full version of the game and they were send 2 magazin 2 test the games before they were released. Only the msr white label is different 2 the full version. |
