So the 367 servers or whatever the list is that is scanned... is that a list updated somewhere (usually pulled up like 10 active servers.)

367 ---> 367 quake III server online
10 ---> 10 of the 367 servers are running the dc mappack --- that means you can play on these servers ---> the big rest are pc only servers.

Sorry to hear that. I should have done some screen captures and some youtube movies before they went. Sad

I have alot screencaps of them (some even with players connected Razz)

But it's eighter a problem on your end (ports blocked?) or the servers restarted right in the moment you tried to ping them (I noticed long ago that the machine or machine/s restard atleast once a month.

So all still online Very Happy

Yeah, I think that might have happened. This morning I tried pinging some with no response. I tried them on my Dreamcast too and it couldn't find them, but now it shows they are there.

Just this very minute connected to the last server (ctf) and all worked fine, almost 3 years since they were found lol. just the story Lord was wanting eh.

I'd arrange some games but i'm having probs getting the master list to download, damn thing, it work before now it's just randomly stop working.

If i get it working i'll get some games organized.

Peace.

Has anyone checked those servers lately? I tried it out by typing CONNECT and then the IPaddress and port but got no response. Is it possible to still connect to them by using the keyboard console commands in Q3 Arena or am I doing it wrong?

Those servers seem to be offline for few months already. While they were up I was able to scan them with the All-Seeing Eye programm and then someday they were just gone. Looks like they are shut down for good as I can't scan them anymore for such long time.

Too bad they shut down, I wonder if we'll ever get the factual story about that "secret room" of forgotten dust-covered servers quietly humming away behind some door at the old Sega of Spain office?

And nearly a year later, so to put the final nail in the coffin, are they still offline today?

How would you check?
There's a list of the server addresses on this website. I'll see if I can "get" anything.

You could open up cmd in windows and type ping ip address where ip address stands for the sever ip you want to check. I you get a response it means they are still connected to the internet.
